Veronica's Memorial Fund is dedicated to making the world safer for our children by insuring that all vehicles have sensors and/or cameras that eliminate their dangerous Blind Zones.These blind zones prevent drivers from seeing large areas in front and back of their vehicle and have caused hundreds of unnecessary deaths of small children, including that of our beloved two year old.
To accomplish this mission, Veronica's Memorial Fund will first try to convince manufacturers to install sensors and cameras on all cars and trucks produced, at least as an option; second, we will try to educate both sellers and buyers of vehicles about the importance of selling and buying cars with these devices; and finally, we will educate owners of vehicles that do not have these devices installed by the manufacturer to buy them from the many secondary resellers. To help accomplish this, we will also try to make arrangements with resellers that will make it cheaper and easier to have these life saving devices installed.
There is proposed legislation that would make these devices mandatory, like seat belts. While we support this legislation, we would hope to accomplish this goal through the industry's own awareness and responsiveness to this issue.
